Wired differently

I was wired differently. That became my advantage.

I was diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental condition as a child. It shaped how I process the world, how I recognise patterns, stay calm under pressure, and understand behaviour where others often see chaos.

That way of thinking became one of the strongest tools in my work. Dogs communicate through behaviour. Small changes matter. Timing matters. Consistency matters. I built my career around understanding those details and helping owners create real change that lasts.

This isn't about quick fixes. It's about clarity, structure, and trust. That's what creates reliable dogs.

Heronswood

From passion to purpose-built training.

I founded A&T Trained Dogs to raise the standard of dog training. Too much of the industry is built around shortcuts, confusion, and methods that ignore the individuality of the dog. I wanted to build something better.

That led to Heronswood Canine Retreat, a licensed, purpose-built training facility in Lancaster designed for serious behavioural work and long-term transformation.

Every programme is tailored. Every dog is treated as an individual. Every result needs to hold up outside the training field, at home, on walks, and in everyday life. Because training only matters if it works when it counts.
